TULSA, Okla. - A 13-year-old boy was killed early Wednesday after the stolen vehicle he was riding in was struck by gunfire in north Tulsa, police said.

Tulsa police officers responded at approximately 12:01 a.m. on July 29, 2026, to a reported shooting near East 51st Place North and North Frankfort Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found several juveniles inside a stolen Hyundai Sonata that had been struck multiple times by gunfire.

Police said a 13-year-old passenger had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Paramedics transported the teen to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other juveniles inside the vehicle were not injured.

Tulsa Police Homicide Unit detectives are canvassing the area to determine where the shooting occurred and identify the person or persons responsible.

The victim's identity has not been released.

Police said the investigation remains active and that information could change as detectives continue gathering evidence.
