TULSA, Okla. — A police pursuit involving a suspicious vehicle early Friday morning ended with one arrest, the recovery of an AR-15-style rifle, and an ongoing investigation into several other individuals.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers responded at approximately 2 a.m. on June 26 to reports of suspicious activity near East 58th Street North and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

A caller reported seeing several people inside a gold van with firearms.

When officers arrived, the van began driving away without its headlights illuminated. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop, leading police on a pursuit.

During the chase, investigators said the van made several abrupt stops, allowing passengers carrying firearms to jump out and flee on foot.

The van eventually stopped near West 56th Street North and Lewis Avenue, where the driver fled by jumping over fences.

A Tulsa Police K-9 officer and his partner, Clyde, searched the area and located a 14-year-old boy hiding inside a storage shed on a nearby property.

According to police, the teen told officers he knew the others in the van but claimed he was not involved in their activities.

The teen was bitten by the police dog during the search and was taken to a hospital for treatment before being booked into the Community Intervention Center on a charge of Resisting an Officer.

While officers established a perimeter, a nearby resident reported seeing several of the fleeing suspects enter a home near West 63rd Street North and North Cheyenne Avenue.

Police said family members later arrived and convinced the individuals inside the home to surrender peacefully.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers recovered an AR-15-style rifle that matched one of the firearms seen being carried from the van during the pursuit. Investigators also seized several rounds of ammunition, holsters, and a replica rifle.

One of the individuals, 19-year-old Marlon Davis, was arrested after investigators determined he had a prior felony adjudication that prohibited him from possessing a firearm. He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail.

The remaining individuals were released pending further investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
